Join Doug for three unforgettable days kayaking in some of his favorite places in the swamps of Louisiana.
You will explore hidden bayous and well-known locations in an up close and personal view of nature. There is nothing that compares to being able to quietly slip in among birds in their habitat. Using some of the most stable kayaks available, Doug will show you not only how to stay safe and comfortable on the water, he will also show you how to enter an environment with minimal disturbance. Only then can you capture those moments that we all treasure.
When you're not on the water, Doug will take you on a journey of some high-end editing techniques and will show you how to navigate the aesthetics of photography. This is a practical, hands-on shooting workshop exploring creativity, light and nature. If you have ever wanted to create more than what your camera captures and create what your mind sees and feels, this is the exploration for you. Doug has spent decades exporting light and shadow and now teaches extensively on Imagery to Artistry — the concept of taking your imagery to new levels of realism and creativity.
Your tour guide, Doug Hansgate, will work hard to get you to the best locations depending on weather and bird activity. "When I shoot these areas, I like to explore and encourage you to spread out some, look for a vision of an image, find still water, and explore the best angle of light and composition. I will stay within our group to give you any assistance you might want, my focus is on you getting the shots not me. Plus, since the tour is limited to 6 participants, you can be assured of individual attention."
